waxing tips
Do!
- Dress loosely and comfortably for your appointment
- Wear a two-piece outfit (as opposed to a romper or jumpsuit)
- Be sure that you have stopped shaving the area you'd like to get waxed AT LEAST 2 weeks prior to your appointment...3-4 weeks or longer for the best results
- Feel free to keep your appointment if you are on your menstrual cycle, just be sure to have a fresh tampon or cup inserted. Also, ALWAYS notify me if this is the case (for Bikini or Brazilian)
- Take 2 Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen (if not allergic and have taken before with no problems) about 30 mins prior to your appointment if you're overly sensitive
- Take an antihistamine such as Benadryl (if not allergic and have taken before with no problems) about 30 mins prior to your appointment if you're prone to welts, hives, rashes or other types of histamine reactions
- Exfoliate and moisturize well the NIGHT BEFORE your appointment... not the day of!
- Plan to keep the waxed body part as cool and friction-less as possible for at least 24 hours afterward
- TRY to relax... you might actually experience MORE pain if your adrenaline is pumping!
- Try to get a good night's sleep the night before your appointment
- Drink plenty of water before and after your wax to avoid dehydration
- Apply Finipil (available for purchase) or other antibacterial moisturizer 2x/day for 1-2 days after your wax
- Exfoliate the waxed area 3-4x/week with loofah gloves, a fine textured sugar or salt scrub, or a chemical exfoliator designed for post wax use, such as PFB Vanish (available for purchase)
- Schedule your next wax in 4-6 weeks!
